Activity Centre Decking

The Pioneer Centre is an activity center located in Shropshire, England. It offers a wide range of outdoor activities such as climbing, abseiling, archery, canoeing, and more. The center primarily caters to groups such as schools, youth groups, and corporate teams for team-building and outdoor learning experiences. Accommodation options are also available at the center, ranging from camping to fully catered indoor accommodations. The Pioneer Centre aims to provide a fun and challenging environment for groups to develop their teamwork, communication, and leadership skills while enjoying the outdoors.

The estate team and senior management agreed that Gripsure’s non-slip decking was the right choice for this busy destination in Cleobury Mortimer, near Kidderminster. Around 254 linear metres of Gripsure Classic decking, with three non-slip inserts, has been installed around the front of the shop area on site and within the low ropes course area. The latest addition adds to other areas of Gripsure decking already completed at the residential centre. These include sections on accessible ramps and steps into staff and activity lodges

The Pioneer Centre is part of Northamptonshire Association of Youth Clubs and Action Centres UK, a diverse organisation set up to help and educate young people, mainly through leisure-time activities. Pioneer is situated in stunning countryside on the edge of the Wyre Forest and offers young people the opportunity to experience the great outdoors.

There are 18 activities on offer here, including abseiling, climbing and giant swing. Groups of up to 320 guests can also stay on the 25-acre, Canadian-themed site. There are seven en-suite accommodation lodges, which allow smaller groups to remain separate, secure and individually cared for.

Safety is a priority in the centre, which prides itself on its reputation as being a ‘home from home’ for many of the 20,000 or more guests that stay here every year. “We have to ensure the area is safe for visitors, which is why we went with Gripsure decking,” said Josh. “We’d definitely recommend them to other businesses.”
